With just two weeks of school complete, Mass Communications students in grades 9-12 are in the throws of their first projects of the new school year.

On the first day of school the members of the senior class brainstormed and pitched story ideas for the first edition of MHS Voice.  Each member of the class is reporting, writing, shooting and editing a video news package about an aspect of the Manchester High School community. The first MHS Voice will air on Friday, Sept. 30.

Mass Comm. juniors started out the school year with intensive practice using Final Cut Pro, professional video editing software.   With in-depth instruction in video editing, they will become proficient in the use of the software and will be able to use this skill in a variety of settings after high school.

Under the direction of MC 10 teacher, Tracy O'Brien, students are learning the basics of design and are honing thier technical skills in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDEsign.

Freshmen Mass Comm. students are learning how to write effective interview questions and recently recorded audio interviews of a friend or family member and what he/she remembers about 9-11.
